On August 28, 2019, Brother Nelson Hersey was called from “labor to refreshment” at the age of 94. Nelson was a Mason for nearly 64 years. For the past 57 years, he served as the Chaplain of St. Andrews Lodge No. 56. For the past ten 11 years, Nelson served as the Chaplain of St. Johns Lodge No. 1. Nelson was the last surviving founder of “Four Square” – an area Masonic celebration of Washington’s Birthday. Nelson actively participated in both lodges until this month. His warm personality and sense of humor will be missed by all.

Masonic services for Brother Nelson will be held on September 3rd at 1:00 p.m. at Buckminster Chapel
